Appointments System

In the Practice, we operate a ‘triage first’ system.  This means, on first contact questions will be asked about your condition.  For example ‘is this a new ailment or ongoing’.  Your answers will allow us to be able to get you the correct treatment.  You will then be contacted back by a clinician to discuss your ailment.  The more information you provide on first contact the more informed the clinician will be to decide what the best form of treatment would be. This contact back in first instance will be by the phone.

If the clinician feels you need to be seen face-to-face you will be offered an appointment the same day.  Therefore please make contact on the day you are available to attend.

You can contact the practice through either phone (emergencies after 3pm) or eConsult (available from 7am Until 5pm Monday to Friday).

Administration staff abide by the code of confidentiality.  Our Administration team are not medically qualified so will not be able to give advice.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Do you have an appointment booked for a check up with a Clinician e.g. a review of Diabetes, Asthma, etc?

If so, and you now find you cannot manage to attend the appointment, please cancel the appointment, giving us at least 24 hours notice so someone else can benefit from this appointment.

We understand it can sometimes be difficult to get through straight away on the telephones, especially at peak times, which is why for those times, we have a text only option.

Home Visits

Good diagnostic and treatment facilities are available at the surgery and, if you are able to get there, we can treat you more effectively. In general, home visits are only intended for those who are too ill to come to the surgery. If you do not have a car, you should arrange a lift from a relative or friend or take a taxi. Very few, if any, illnesses are made worse by a short car journey.

If a visit is deemed medically necessary by the doctor we will arrange this. If you require a home visit contact the surgery (dial 0345 337 6340 then press 2) and give the receptionist details so that the doctor can assess the urgency of the call.

Please call before 10:00am with house call requests

The visiting doctor may not always be your usual doctor.
