Training Practice

We are an approved GP training practice, working with NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and other NHS education partners to support the training and development of doctors in primary care.

We provide a structured and supportive learning environment for GP registrars, Foundation Year 2 (FY2) doctors, and medical students. As part of this role, the practice undergoes regular training practice review and reaccreditation to ensure we meet required standards in relation to clinical governance, supervision, patient safety, and education.

Patients may be asked if they are willing for a GP registrar, FY2 doctor, or medical student to be involved in their consultation. All trainees work under appropriate supervision by experienced clinicians, and patient consent, confidentiality, and choice are always respected. Patients are free to decline involvement in training activities without this affecting their care in any way.

Being a training practice supports ongoing learning within the practice team, helps us maintain high clinical standards, and contributes to the future general practice workforce in Scotland.
